I eat at Rubio’s all the time. Here’s what works for me.
-Order chicken instead of fish=no breading
-Leave off the Chipotle white sauce=the lion’s share of the fat is gone
-Ask for the guacamole on the side and portion control it yourself.
-I also order without salsa fresca, cuz I don’t like it, though I don’t know if it has any oil in it.
You’re left with lettuce, grilled chicken & cheese-guac on the side
*Depending on who’s making the tacos, 2 tortillas may require you to add a little protein when you get home. Check the generosity of the chicken & cheese portions.
Grilled Chicken Grande Bowl
-Order it without the chipotle white sauce and rice.
-Order the guacamole on the side (the normal portion they serve is enormous)
-Same issue with the salsa fresca
Now you’re left with cabbage & black beans, 2 of the top 100 Zone foods, and grilled chicken.
