I just got handed an “any servicemember” letter from a fifth grade student. She asks all the usual questions (“what’s Iraq like, is it scary, how long have you been there” etc), then comes out with this stroke of pure genius:
“I’m sorry for so many questions, I’ve never written a soldier before. I wrote George W Bush once, but you could tell somebody wrote for him when he wrote back.”
Everyone in my office nearly fell out of their chairs laughing at that one.
It’s genius on another level - I now HAVE to reply personally, she’s pulled the ultimate punk card - “The President didn’t write back himself, hope you do.” Well, the boss might be too busy but by heck WE’LL answer you!
You should only be polite to the people who see things your way. If someone disagrees with you, you should beat them up. I’m not sure if I’m explaining this right, but basically you should avoid fighting whenever you can, unless someone gives you no choice. Like if your favorite color is green, and their’s is purple.
