So since learning that I was deficient in vitamin D, well extremely deficient, almost three weeks ago I have started supplementing with 6000 iu a day as RXed. In addition I cut out the protein shakes and my beloved peanut butter.  As a result I have lost 13 pounds. So just some food for thought for ppl. It apparently has an effect on weight loss if you are lacking.

How did you learn that you were deficient?

I went in to have my Thyroid checked, and my doc ordered a full blood panel.

Congratulations!

Now why’d you cut out the protein shakes?

Besides the weight loss, have you had any other effects of the supplementation so far?

Inertia plays a mighty role in recovery, and an object at rest on a couch can stay there for a long time.

Well, I am trying to intake as much real food as possible. Were doing a nutrition challange at my box and I wanted to see if it would make a difference.

So far with the supplementation I have had more energy, I can last most of the day with out feeling completely drained. Plus oddly enough a littly more perky smile

Ah, gotcha!

This is all good news!

Helping the lifts?  Seems like it would definitely be helping the metcons.

It has been helping my lifts and metcons, we just shifted programing at the start of the year. It is definatly harder but I am able to keep up as RXed (when not envolving pull ups ), and have more endurance through out the WOD.

I assume you are also taking some sort of “Multi vitamin” in addition to your “vitamin D” supplementation??? Thanks
