Good day guys
This post is more for my own peace of mind. Please refer me to anothe section if I’m lost.
Last year Nov I had a disc at L5/S1 break off during a grappling session. It was a prolapsed disk that just got progeessiveliy worse. The fragment made its way into the nerve channel. At emergency room the orthopedic surgeon requested MRI and diagnosed Cauda Esquina Syndrome. Symtoms were loss of function in lower body from hips down.
Was in bed for 2 months and started light exercise 3 months after the op. Slowly increased intensity and feeling great.
Now 7 months later I’m a new man, stronger and more mobile than a year ago!
They did not fuse the vertabrae but I have about 2/3rds of a normal disc. I don’t have any real issues but some exercises with impact like rope jumps are tricky and sometimes uncomfortable. With olympic lifts and kb swings I am very careful.
Question is, is there anything I should be aware of or stay away from?
