I cant seem to decide between paleo, primal, body builder style or carb night? I look at 1,2 and it protein and veg with some fruit .Body builder diet is protein, good carbs and fats and alot of dairy for shakes. Carb night is just madness.lol Im 5’11 275lbs. I been powerlifting for about 4 years now and Im tired of being a fatty and Want to lose about 50lbs or so. I started the crossfit party last week and took a break from powerlifting. I came to the experts for some direction. Thanks….don

There are several options commonly linked with CrossFit and they’re all discussed in this forum at various times.

Paleo is the big thing, http://thepaleodiet.com/. Basically no processed foods and only low glycemic index carbs. No specific limitations on portion size. Tends to be a bit extreme and restrictive. Many adherents exhibit similar thinking.
The Zone, http://www.zonediet.com/, is a great system of portion control, arguably using Paleo foods.

I personally really like Julianne Taylor’s advice, eg http://paleozonenutrition.com/2013/02/20/low-carb-paleo-crossfit-not-losing-weight-my-recommendations/ or http://paleozonenutrition.com/2013/04/02/my-paleo-plate-a-guide-to-high-nutrient-balanced-paleo-meals/. It’s very practical and realistic. Quite easy to follow. Paleo, but with some Zone like portion control in there too.
Mark’s Daily Apple, http://www.marksdailyapple.com/welcome-to-marks-daily-apple/ is an extremely sensible and more tolerant variant on Paleo

There is a diet post in the FAQ, http://www.crossfitbrandx.com/index.php/forums/viewthread/7458/

I preferred eating healthy diet, for me low carb and more veggies is a good diet plan. Diet is so valuable factor whether you wanna improve fitness or grow your muscle or loss weight.

hard lesson learned last night. After eating clean for two weeks , low sugar, low carbs. My wife and I had dinner at my parents house last night. two beef and cheedar smokies, some subway platter and a piece of fudge later I thought I had the stomach flu!!!!!  Turns out its either one or the other. I didnt think my body would react that way. I be damned if it happens again. Packing my own food for now on….
