Whens the best time to add in heavy work?

Im training wods 5 to 6 times a week and feeling great, but I was wonder when is a good time to go really heavy. cleans, deadlifts, squats. 21 clean and press is hard at 135 or so, but whens a good time to max it up. Post wod doesnt seem like a good time with and a rest day is that.what seems to be the rule of thumb on this. I dont want to over train and burn out….thanks…don

If you just follow the main site programming there will be max effort days regularly.

For someone who is no longer new to crossfit an extra lift can be added a few times a week. Usually then the heavy weights are used before the WOD.

As a newcomer make sure your body can handle your current workout load for several months before thinking of adding strength work. For most people it’s not required.
