Just mostly trying the video link feature for the first time. We’ll see how it works. Box Squats tomorrow .I’ve decided to train for a meet in Feb. to see if an old guy can still make halfway decent gains. I will work on encorporating some Select Wods into my training for the Cardio aspects which I find beneficial to my strength training. TGIF everyone. grin  [vimeo]http://vimeo.com/74463673[/vimeo]

Great video. I see the advantages of using a box. I’ll have to build me one! Also, when you reach the top, I see you “thrust” the hips. Is that what is referred to as “hip drive”?

When I power lift , the hips and glutes are my main focus for maintaining tension in to the bottom of the squat,The box really helps there. My hip thrust is just momentum coming out of the Squat, Nothing I’m trying to do. when I do Olympic lifts its mostly the legs like a front squat bringing me out of the hole. Check my videos and look at the squat on my C+J, Totally different forms. Good luck on the training grin

Had to split this one up and scale it down in spots and make some substitutions.  Happy I was able to do what I did.  A lot of room for improvement.

66 Deadlifts 110#
66 Box jump 20 inch box
66 Kettlebell swings scaled to 35# dumbbell
33 Knees to elbows
66 Sit ups
33 Knees to elbows
33 Pull ups
66 thrusters 55#
33 Pull ups
66 Wallball shots subbed 66 Thrusters 55#
66 Burpees
66 Double unders subbed for 198 single unders

1:02:15

The goal for next time this WOD come around will be to not split things up and shave a few minutes off the time.
I’m totally exhausted.  Wanted to quit several times.  Glad I made it through.

Good job getting it done!
That was by far the TOUGHEST WOD I’ve done to date. It was the first time I’d actually laid out on the floor immobile when I finished.

Thanks Glorybelle! I’ll be feeling that one for a couple days grin

Split Jerk, 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 reps

100-105-110-115-120-125-130 lb.

Mechanics>Consistency>Intensity. I’m still training technique with these, so it feels light in that sense, yet is still heavier than my pressing weight.
