Just doing something!
500m row
3 rounds
push-ups 30,30,20
GHD sit-ups 12,12,12
curls with bar 15,15,15

20 more push-ups and 4 GHDs

Still feeling bad.  Woke up feeling great. Had bulletproof coffee and was ready to do some real work. 1 hour later, feeling drain. I figure I do something in garage.  Out of breath quick. Been getting plenty of sleep for a change.  Let’s see how I feel tomorrow.

Happy Saturday everyone!
Did 14.3 today at Women’s Rx and got 99 reps. Excited!

Great number Glorybelle Glad to see your fit again.

Thanks Guy! I really do think doing these Open WODs at a Box helped too.
Just going through the challenge alongside others helped push me when I didn’t want to push.
It’s kind of nice that CrossFit ParaBellum is welcoming drop-ins for the Open WODs at no charge, except to pay the one-time Games fee of $20.

Good for you Glorybelle, I’m thinking you set a PR on your Deadlift with 205 x 9 at the end. Well done grin

Oh I wish! I got through 9 reps of the 185 pound deadlift and then the clock ran out when I was half way up for the 10th rep. That’s okay because I really wasn’t expecting to even get to 185 pounds.
Anyway, here’s how I looked toward the very end of the WOD. Not very flattering, but I’ll take it.

185 x 9 was awesome! 200 x 1 was your max deadlift If I recall right. I bet your max single is much higher than you believe,Great effort Glorybelle I like the form on your Deadlift in the picture.

That’s cool that they are taking drop-ins for the Open WOD’s at such a low rate.  That was one of the reasons I ended up not paying to actually be “in” the open was lack of a place to get it judged.  I checked several local boxes and couldn’t find anyone that mentioned non-member coming to get judged for the Open WODs, and the video option is not an option for me either.

jchcrawk, I was so surprised when they said the Open WODs were free as long as I’d reg’d for the Games through the Games site. Not only that but the owner, who is one of the Coaches at ParaBellum, spent as much time coaching me on double-unders as he did his paying members. And all the members have been friendly and supportive. I’m sure there are more Boxes like them out there. I hope so, at least! Can you have a friend video tape your Open WODs?

Makes me feel good to know you like my DL form at the top. I could really feel the last few on my back, so I know I lost some form. But I tried to keep it as long as I could.
I’m looking forward to going for a new DL PR, and yes you remembered correctly… my 1 rep max is 200.

WU:  3 rounds of: Samson Stretch, 5 shoulder dislocates, 15 OHS w/pvc pipe, 15 sit ups, 15 good-mornings w/45 pounds, 12 pull-ups, 12 dips.

WOD:
Games Open 14.3
Complete as many reps as possible in 8 minutes of:
135-lb. deadlifts, 10 reps
15 box jumps, 24-inch
185-lb. deadlifts, 15 reps
15 box jumps, 24-inch
225-lb. deadlifts, 20 reps
15 box jumps, 24-inch
275-lb. deadlifts, 25 reps - Stopped at 2 reps.

Total reps = 92     finished last round of box jumps (step ups) at 7:00 minutes

I had to switch to box step ups after the set of deadlifts at 185, I missed a few jumps and feared I would injure my shins terribly.  I think I saw that step ups were ok on the Games Rules video.
Deadlifts at 275 were too much for me at the end.  I was hoping to get to 100 reps (total) but then figured I was close enough and didn’t want to hurt my back.
Very good metcon action while it lasted.  I liked that WOD!

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Unlucky jchcrawk. I too was denied from dropping in at a few places. But CrossFit Wired offered it for free!

Great effort David. I saw a lot of youtube posters doing 14.3 with step ups. It seemed more practical given that deadlifts tax the legs so much . Trashing your shins is very possible. I might try this one myself with step ups like you did. Take care Papa Bear
