Everyone is a Big Dawg today!

Make very sure that your reps are all push jerks and not simply shoulder to overhead.

Nice work today Karate and Murph!

I accidentally did Push Jerks on March 12, when that WOD had called for Push Press.
Push Jerks: 65 70 75 85 95 100 105 110 115(f) 110(pr)

I’ll make up Push Press WOD tomorrow.

Pretty happy with the 170. I’ve had a mental block on that number for a year.

Morning all,  Push jerks
132 x 5
154 x 5
176 x 3
198 x 3
209 x 3
220 x 1
231 x 1 fail
231 x 1 more of a push press
237 x 1 fail
237 x 1 ended up being more of a push press.  http://vimeo.com/89795646

My goal was to hit 242 x 1 today, I think I went to heavy on the 209 x 3.
Practiced some T2B x 20 arm felt good
Goofed around to see what a 60 calorie row was like.
Have a great weekend all grin

Hey!  Doing 14.4?  Why not log your rowing on the Concept2 site?  You could help win a new rower for Brand X.  See below.

Push jerk 5-5-3-3-3-1-1-1-1-1 reps

110 - 120 - 130 - 135 - 145 - 155 - 165 - 175 - 180 - 185(a 5lb PR)

Then,

Concept 2 Mud Season Madness

Row 5K:

21:57.1

Please consider signing up for Brand X’s Concept2 rowing team and competing in the World Erg Challenge.  The challenge runs 15 March through 15 April, but it’s not too late to sign up.  We have a chance to win a rower or ski erg for Brand X, as well as some individual prizes.  It would be swell if, at a minimum, everybody logged their rowing from the WODs they were going to do anyway.  Please PM me if you have questions.  Thanks!  grin

Double WOD today because I could use the 5k run I missed the other day as my conditioning grin

Buy-in: 1 set of 20 sit ups, going through the push jerk motion to make sure I didn’t just do shoulder to overhead.

WOD:
2 sets of 5 - 60, 70#
3 sets of 3 - 70, 60, 70#
5 singles - all 70#

My elbows weren’t behaving very well today. I couldn’t get the arms locked out good, even at very low weights, like 20#. All I could do was lock out the best I could.

Conditioning: the run 5k WOD, as Rx’d
29:16, far from my PR of 24:05.

Although it was far from my best possible result, it was the best result possible for me today. I knew I was selling out good because my heart rate went up into the mid-150s - something that takes some doing for someone with a resting pulse of under 60 beats/minute.

1 set of 20 sit ups wrapped it up.

Mostly using CrossFit to tone softer parts of my body, not develop muscle mass…
Start date: 12/16/2012. Started at 210#. Still a pup for now, but hoping to move up soon!

Chipper - Row/TtB/Wallball/Cleans/MU

Burgener Warmup x2

14:00 AMRAP
60-calorie row
50 toes-to-bar
40 wall ball shots, 7#/12’ target (heaviest available)
30 cleans, 65#
20 muscle-ups

Finished through cleans in 15min. Had to put the MU on hold, felt terrible. Could’ve been the two weeks off due to the intercostal muscle strain I got from snowboarding 3 weeks ago. Not sure…good workout though.
