Morning all, Lea ann got a 1 mile run in yesterday, Leisure pace so no time.. We have decided shedding some unwanted weight is in order. I was surprised to find I had crept up to 272.5 lbs. Strength training has got to go!  Its time to focus on mobility again. I will be looking at some Puppy scaling and actually hitting some WODs with more frequency. Anybody that noticed my pre Boot camp picture will notice a skinny me with way to much hair , That and I was also a smoker as a Teen, the older gentleman in picture is my Step Grandfather George. I gave up the tobacco in early 20s when I started Powerlifting. I was 150 lbs in the picture which is 122 lbs. less than now. What a difference 40 years makes LOL Have a great day all grin

I like the pic. I remember when I started college I was a solid 170 several years back was at 236. A beach picture my wife took one summer made me completely change everything. Take care brother.

Thanks Wes, Lea ann said she wouldn’t have had anything to do with me back then, LOL 236! that must have been burgers and beer days LOL  I need to get a little leaner and meaner like you guys wink  Take care brother

Did the pack scale. I later realized I didn’t do the L pull-ups right. All in all I was spent though. Took 24 minutes

Woke up this morning and realized we close on our new house in 48 hours and I haven’t packed a thing.  big surprise  I guess I’m taking that “day off” I’ve been talking about (by default).  Good job to everyone today!

I was just thinking about how I weighed a hefty 130 lbs when I went off to college. Sixteen years later and I’m 55 lbs heavier.  Most of that was just “filling out” a little.  However, I’m now at the point where any weight gained is excess.  We’ll see how that goes…  Good job on the run.

Thanks TM79, Yes the years do it to us all,Happy training wink

140527 TUESDAY

WU: CSWU 3x10

WOD: McGhee - (Sleep easy, Ranger. Your brothers have the watch, now. Fourth deployment.  WOW….)
Pack:
Complete as many rounds in 20 minutes as you can of:
185 pound Deadlift, 5 reps
13 Push-ups
10 Box steps, 20 inch box

9 Rounds

Pull-up Practice: 10 minutes
able to do single reps using the 30# band! Getting closer to my goal for the year.

CD: practice Camo Belt form, ATA Taekwondo

WOD comments: By the fourth round I was doing single reps of the deadlifts, but the push-ups were unbroken every round. I wasn’t the quickest, but I made it.  Some days that is all I can hope for.

McGhee

Complete as many rounds in 20 minutes as you can of:
185 pound Deadlift, 5 reps
13 Push-ups
9 step ups

9 rounds

Took this one slow and steady, as I didn’t want to lose form on the DL and hurt my back again. Still not doing box jumps and DL’s together, cause I like my shins.

Nice job!

You can do it.  I’ve now lost a large third grader/small fourth grader in weight.  A year ago I would have never believed it.

For time:

As you can see in the photo, I stacked 2 45# plates on top of a 30 inch box in order to jump up and pull on the highest bar.

Running is my strong suite(?) i guess; would gladely give up some of it for an improved oly lifting capacity, but it just isn’t happening:o)
