What is the Buy In and Cash Out before and after workouts? Is a warmup/ cool down or an addition to the workout?
The buy-in/cash-out was something Brand X (Jeff and Mikki) started incorporating into the classes, usually made up of some skill or agility work with a metcon-like feel to it. It’s a chance to a) warm-up (though usually we should expect to warm up before class) b) do some fun and rarer movements like bear crawls, rope climbs etc or c) work on low rep barbell lifts. Cash-out is often-times gymnastics movements or sprints but can be anything feel you want some skill work on.
A lot of people started to add this structure to their at home workouts, too, so you see it mentioned quite frequently these days on the workout postings here and other places.
Where does one find the buy in/cash out workouts for the day? Do you guys post them somewhere, or is it an in-gym only thing?
It’s a Brand X WOD thing. Look for one of the trainers (GD, BBOJ, GI, Marla_Singer, Big D and all the others I can’t remember ) who posts the early bird workout and sometimes there will be one.
Otherwise it’s gym specific. You could pick some things you’re not good at and ask how to work it in as a buy in/cash out, if you’re interested in building some skills. I really need to start doing this.
